Future Trees Trust is delighted to report a new consortium project funded by Defra to take forward work on producing ash for industry that is tolerant to ash dieback.  This January, an archive of tolerant ash material from the Living Ash Project and Forest Research’s mass screening trials was planted on the public forestry estate in Hampshire.  The new project will monitor and test the material in the archive over the next five years to select the most tolerant trees for a new breeding programme.  More details available here. http://www.futuretrees.org/blog/2020/03/25/living-ash-project-phase-2-funding-announced/
